Dish doesn't share exactly how much it pays CBS to retransmit its channels, but CBS's CEO Les Moonves estimated the network charges traditional cable companies $2 per subscriber at Goldman Sachs' Communacopia media conference earlier this year.

Good Morning! We are happy to announce effective Thursday, 11/23/17, that we have reached an agreement with CBS Corporation and all channels owned by them have been restored.

The dishpromise.com site also has a Ways to Watch section where you can select CBS programming from a drop-down menu in order to find ways to watch it during the Dish blackout.

For sports fans, that means several million will miss out on today's Chargers at Cowboys game airing on CBS. What made the deal more pressing was that DISH subscribers watched CBS more than any other broadcast or cable outlet.

Besides Chicago, other affected markets were NY (where CBS owns WCBS and WLNY), Los Angeles (KCBS and KCAL), Philadelphia (KYW and WPSG), Dallas (KTVT and KTXA), San Francisco (KPIX and KBCW), Atlanta (WUPA), Boston (WBZ and WSBK), Seattle (KSTW), Tampa (WTOG), Detroit (WWJ and WKBD), Minneapolis (WCCO), Miami (WFOR and WBFS), Denver (KCNC), Sacramento (KOVR and KMAX), Pittsburgh (KDKA and WPCW) and Baltimore (WJZ).

CBS Corp. and Dish Network resolved their contentious carriage fee dispute by agreeing to a new distribution deal, restoring CBS station signals to millions of Dish customers across the country who went without CBS football on Thanksgiving. Dish added that "terms of the agreement were not disclosed".

The blackout affected almost 4 million Dish Network subscriber homes - including 400,000 in the Los Angeles region.

Warren Schlicting, Dish's executive vice president of marketing and programming, recorded a video featured on the site that explains how the company's carriage dispute with CBS is a microcosm of a larger, fractured relationship between broadcasters and pay-TV providers.

In the meantime, Dish stated it plans to provide subscribers in the affected markets with digital over-the-air antennas at no extra cost.
