David Cassidy, the wildly popular '70s heartthrob who shot to fame when he starred and sang in TV's "The Partridge Family", is in critical condition with organ failure.

Partridge Family alum David Cassidy was recently hospitalized and his family has rushed to his side.

The singer is suffering from kidney failure and needs a liver transplant, TMZ reported.

Doctors have apparently told his relatives to "prepare for the worst".

In February, Cassidy revealed to PEOPLE that he was battling dementia.

Saudis Deny Forcing Lebanese Prime Minister To Resign, Blame Hizballah
Iran was sowing strife, destruction and ruin wherever it went and accused it of a "deep hatred for the Arab nation", he said. The government's collapse complicates preparations for next year's parliamentary elections, Lebanon's first since 2009.

The singer toured the world singing his hit songs, such as "I Think I Love You", filling concert halls with screaming teenage girls.

He appeared in the "Partridge Family" sitcom from 1970 to 1974 as the oldest son in a musical family headed by a single mother.

"I feared I would end up that way".

After coming to terms with his condition, Cassidy said he made the decision to stop touring as a musician to concentrate on his health and happiness.
