The Red Devils boss spoke out about the 21-year-old France international's future at Old Trafford following reports that he was set to be offered to the Italian Serie A outfit as part of a deal which would see £50million-rated Croatian attacking midfielder Ivan Perisic move in the opposite direction.

Piero Ausilio said: "I don't understand where some of these stories come from".

"Candreva has never been on the market and we have absolutely no intention of selling him".

"He has said: 'Perisic is an important player and we're now discussing a new contract with him'".

Mourinho is keen on adding a speedy, skilful player to his ranks and has identified Perisic as the player who fits the bill.

NWS puts most of state under Flash Flood Watch through Friday evening
Storm chances start to drop off this weekend; even still, there's the risk for pockets of heavy rain and flooding concerns. Similar rainfall is expected throughout the state, but Baltimore and Washington, D.C., could get five or more inches.

However, with talks seemingly breaking down, the Portuguese manager revealed that his club would not be coerced into paying exorbitant fees like some of their rivals.

United have already spent just under £150m this summer, signing Romelu Lukaku for £75m, Nemanja Matic for £40m and defender Victor Lindelof for £31m.

"Everybody knows because I said it, very objectively I would like four players and I asked for four players", he said last month.

"The club did a fantastic job by getting three of them, which is very hard in the insane market we're in now". We have important players injured for a long time and they will be back by the end of the year, so our squad is not so big.

"The more days that go by, the more hard it becomes for us to replace him and, therefore, I would strongly oppose his departure".
