In a statement provided to CNN, Jay Wallace, Fox News' president of news, said the lawsuit's accusations are false and said the company's internal investigation into the retracted story has turned up no evidence Zimmerman fabricated quotes.

As we reported previously, investigator Rod Wheeler filed the defamation suit today in NY, accusing Fox of making up parts of a story about Rich and alleging that President Trump pressured Fox to publish the story. The quotes are: "My investigation up to his point shows there was some degree of email exchange between Seth Rich and WikiLeaks;" "My investigation shows someone within the DC government, Democratic National Committee or Clinton team is blocking the murder investigation from going forward;" and "That is unfortunate". The story linked Rich to last year's leak of DNC emails by WikiLeaks.

The lawsuit also cites a text message from Butowsky to Wheeler, in which Butowsky claims that Trump read the article and wanted it published quickly.

"Incredibly, according to Butowsky, the President reviewed an article written by a Fox News journalist prior to its publication and sought to get the article published 'immediately, '" the complaint states.

Wheeler alleges in his suit that he met with White House press secretary Sean Spicer on April 20, along with Ed Butowsky, a conservative financier who had been bankrolling Wheeler's investigation of the Rich slaying.

Neither Fox News nor Wheeler have responded to Raw Story's request for comment. It names as defendants Butowsky, Fox and reporter Malia Zimmerman. Now, this story is confusing and includes a lot of conflicting statements.

White House Blood Feud Explodes as Scaramucci Savages Priebus in CNN Meltdown
Asked if he was accusing Mr Priebus of leaking the financial disclosure , Mr Scaramucci told AFP: "I am not". Scaramucci notably said he reports directly to the president, not to the chief of staff.

"It's completely untrue that he or the White House were involved in the story". So not only does it appear that President Trump may have colluded with Russia to help win the election, but it also appears that he is continuing to do so in order to divert attention from the Trump/Russia story line. Butowsky, however, said that Wheeler was quoted accurately. "It's now all up to you. but don't feel the pressure".

Butowsky suspended his Twitter account this morning because, according to New York Magazine correspondent Olivia Nuzzi, "people are so mean".

Toward the end of that briefing, Sanders reportedly said she's not sure whether President Trump believes Seth Rich was involved in the DNC hacking.

In a statement, Spicer said: "Ed is a longtime supporter of the president's agenda".

The suit alleges that the White House and Fox News Channel conspired to push a false story about Democratic leaks and the unsolved killing of 27-year-old Seth Rich in order to distract attention from the Russian Federation investigation swirling around President Donald Trump. However, Zimmerman's article was published, which said that Wheeler believes there was evidence that connects Rich to Wikileaks before he was murdered, prompting a quick rebuke from Rich's family.

"A reporter making up quotes is a very serious allegation and I don't think it matches the sort of reporter she was in Hawaii", Moore said. He asked for a 10 minute meeting, with no specified topic, to catch up and said he would be bringing along a contributor to Fox News.
