Seven US soldiers were injured yesterday in an insider attack by an Afghan soldier who turned his weapon on his instructors and advisers.

A spokesman for the Afghan Defense Ministry said "three foreign soldiers, possibly Americans" had been wounded during training at the base.

The injured troops have been evacuated for treatment, the mission said in a statement.

Taliban took responsibility of the incident and said that Afghan soldier who killed USA soldiers belonged to Taliban group.

Camp Shaheen was the site of a major attack by Taliban militants in April, killing more than 130 Afghan Army personnel.
