England boss Gareth Southgate admits that his side were "anxious" during the second half of Tuesday's 3-2 friendly defeat to France.

France were forced to play a man light for the vast majority of the second period following the dismissal of Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane but conjured victory through an Ousmane Dembele victor 12 minutes from time.

Djibril Sidibe also got on the global scoresheet for the first time to put France in front two minutes before half-time.

Kane made it 2-2 for England from the penalty spot straight after the restart after Varane had felled Dele Alli, a foul for which he was shown a red card after the intervention of assistant referee Marco Guido.

HARRY KANE scored twice last night but England crashed to a sloppy defeat against ten-man France.

Ousmane Dembele gave 10-man France the victory (78), finding the bottom corner from 15 yards as England ended the season on a sour note.

The Euro 2016 finalists were level, however, when England goalkeeper Tom Heaton did well to keep out Giroud's header from a 22nd- minute free-kick only for Samuel Umtiti to lash in the rebound.

"I think in course of 90 minutes I saw things we're very good at".

"We should have kept the ball far better". We have been competitive in these three friendlies for long periods but we have had to play at our absolute limit to stay in all three matches. "The pleasing thing is the players are taking on board tactical information", he said.

Her name is Nubia and much the way Diana was formed out of white clay, Nubia was created from black clay. "Recently we've, for some reason, only chosen men to be those universal characters so often".

Who shone and who flopped for England against France? But, again, France was quickest to respond and Sidibe slammed in the loose ball.

· Kane is the first Tottenham player to score a brace for England since Jermain Defoe in March 2013 (v San Marino).

The clash witnessed the trial of a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) by world governing body Federation Internationale de Football Association and Italian referee Davide Massa used the technology 34 seconds into the second period. France could've had several more goals but contented themselves with one, scored by Dembele after lovely work from Lemar and Pogba.

Kane, who hit an injury-time equaliser in Saturday's World Cup qualifier in Scotland, had taken just nine minutes to get his name on the scoresheet.

Olivier Giroud had an effort ruled out for offside and France were forced into an early change - the first of many substitutions - as Lucas Digne replaced the injured Benjamin Mendy.

France's midfielder Paul Pogba reacts during the worldwide friendly football match between France and England at The Stade de France Stadium in Saint-Denis near Paris on June 13, 2017.

"We need to see the reality of where we are and you have to play against the best otherwise it masks where you are as a team".

And some thought he just needed the same chances French striker Kylian Mbappe was getting - who failed to get his name on the scoresheet but not for lack of trying.
