Dazed golf great Tiger Woods struggles to walk in police arrest video

Hilda Schwartz | 08 June, 2017, 06:18

Tiger was found asleep at the wheel of his vehicle before police arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence in Jupiter, Florida, on Monday.

The report also mentioned that the golfer changed his story when asked about his whereabouts. He failed numerous field sobriety tests and was arrested.

Both tires on the left side of the auto were flat, and police described fresh damage to the driver's side.

He was later charged with driving under the influence, something the 41-year-old blamed on an "unexpected reaction" to a mix of prescription medications.

"Do you know the reason I'm out with you now, right?" one of the officers asked Woods, according to the USA Today report. As we reported earlier, he blames it on an "unexpected reaction to prescription medications".

One of the reports said Woods had to be awakened and that his speech was slow and slurred but that he was "cooperative". "I will do everything in my power to ensure this never happens again".

The police photos of Woods' 2015 black S63 AMG Mercedes (which sold for a base retail price of about $235,000) show minor damage to the front bumper on the driver's side, as well as scuffs and scratches on the rear bumper. When the officer asked the golfer to repeat what his instructions were, the dazed star replied "not to sing the national anthem backwards".

He was released on his own recognizance at 10:50 a.m. and is scheduled to be arraigned on July 5 at Palm Beach County court.

Woods has previously made headlines away from the golf course. The officer asks him if he has been drinking, and he says no.

Woods underwent back surgery last month, marking the fourth time in his career that he has undergone such a procedure, and he is expected to miss the rest of the PGA Tour season.

"When athletes and celebrities who serve as role models, like Tiger Woods, allegedly make the decision to drive impaired, it sends a risky and deadly message", a MADD spokesperson told TMZ adding, "There are no excuses to drive under the influence of any impairing substance, whether it's [sic] alcohol or any legal or illegal impairing drugs". "I've been there myself".
