Royals release photo of Princess Charlotte before her 2nd birthday

Madeline Patrick | 15 May, 2017, 18:20

Born in 2015 to parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Charlotte is little sister to Prince George, and is fourth in line to the throne, after her grandfather Prince Charles, father Prince William and brother Prince George.

It was the first time the princess has been seen since Christmas, when she was photographed as she was taken to a church service close to the home of her grandparents Carole and Michael Middleton in the Berkshire village of Bucklebury.

A statement from Kensington Palace read: 'The Duke and Duchess are very happy to be able to share these important family moments and hope that everyone enjoys these lovely photos as much as they do'.

The artist formerly known as Kate Middleton photographed her daughter in April at their country compound in Norfolk.

Indeed, with Charlotte's expression and her sweet blue and yellow lamb cardigan, the world will undoubtedly love the photo as well.

The £10 (€12) jumper sold out in a few short hours after Charlotte's photo was released by Kensington Palace, ahead of her birthday celebrations on Tuesday. Joining the bad twos club on May 2, it's obvious the adorable toddler has grown SO much not only since her last birthday, but also from this past summer!

Charlotte's privacy has been carefully guarded by her parents in the past.

Prince William, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George and Princess Charlotte board a floatplane for their official departure from Canada in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, October 1, 2016. Many royal fans are pointing out that she even looks just like her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, in the pic!

The princess has one elder sibling, Prince George, aged 3.

While the pictures from the birthday party are awaited, we must also tell you that Princess Charlotte will be a bridesmaid for Pippa Middleton's wedding later this month.

He will start school in September. But as the family gears up to shift their base to London in summer, the pair will increasingly partake more official engagements in addition to increasing their charity work.
