Bradley steps up as Celtics move ahead

Boston Celtics thwart Washington Wizards 123-101, to take commanding 3-2 series lead 2017 NBA Playoffs: Boston Celtics just one win away from Eastern Conference Finals

The Celtics dealt the Wizards a 123-101 loss in game five to put them in the driver's seat for the series.

"We have to be a defensive team tonight", Coach Scott Brooks said on Wednesday morning. "We were trying to play with a higher motor". Luckily for Washington, Game 6 on Friday night is at Verizon Center, where they are 5-0 in this year's playoffs, giving the Wizards a good chance at extending the series to a decisive Game 7 in Boston. In the first half!

"We have to stay in the moment", Isaiah Thomas said of Game 6. "It just happens. I don't really know the real reason". If they exited the game with a win, they would have the Celtics right where they wanted them, facing elimination. "A guy like John Wall you're not gonna stop.He does a hell of a job on him". They played great defense, and were able to keep Washington stars John Wall and Bradley Beal from taking over the game like they did in games 3 and 4. The Washington Wizards have won nine of their last 10 home games. Thomas also dished out nine assists.

What Thomas means by that is he knows how he can use the threat of his scoring to open up plays for others whether he has the ball in his hands or not. On the road you can't afford to not get back on defense, yet the Wizards made that a habit. "I told him before the game that I believe in him and he's going to have a big game, and he did".

Yet Bradley was unbelievable offensively Wednesday night, making 10-of-13 shots for 25 points in the first half alone. Avery Bradley is the third double-digit scorer and Jae Crowder is grabbing six rebounds.

"You just look at some of the data stuff that people come up with, and he's like the best player numbers-wise in the Chicago series".

According to the latest allegations, the victim was in her bathroom when Jackson asked her multiple times to shower with him. After that incident, head coach Charlie Strong suspended Jackson from team activities while the legal process played out.

"They were the more physical team today", Wall said. Bradley Beal scored 16 points, while Otto Porter and Kelly Oubre added 13 points apiece.

Here are five things to watch out for when the Boston Celtics and the Washington Wizards meet at 8 p.m. tonight at Verizon Center.

Washington's Kelly Oubre Jr., who sat out Game 4 via National Basketball Association suspension after running into Celtics forward Kelly Olynyk, heard chants for him long before he entered the game in the second quarter.

Oubre finished with 13 points and three rebounds in 19 active minutes. They're going to protect Olynyk here. He didn't let it bother him. "For us to already go through that against a very good team, against an intense crowd". We didn't think those types of words, but all we've got to do is play basketball. We (are) his brothers. Especially in Game 6, we're gonna need that from him. It's also harder to go on a run if Markieff Morris is in foul trouble. The Wizards margin of victory over Boston in their four homes games are 15, 19, 25 and 27 points.

NOTES: The Celtics had 33 assists on 46 baskets while committing only 11 turnovers. "Get a win and hopefully come back to Boston". The Wizards hope to extend the series, which is heading back to Washington with the Celtics up 3-2. Both teams have battled it out through 9 games this season between the regular season and postseason with the home team winning each of the match-ups. Their 2017 playoff low was 103 - in their Game 5 win over the Atlanta Hawks in the first round. "I need to save my money.".
