(CNN) - One person is dead and two wounded after a shooting Saturday at the upscale Shops at Merrick Park mall in Coral Cables, Florida, officials said.

The person killed is believed to be the shooter, who committed suicide after opening fire, police said.

A Coral Gables Police Spokesperson said the scene was secured by 1:45 p.m and officers are now investigating the incident.

Another trainer at the fitness center told one of his members the shooting involved a disgruntled former employee. He said the victims were the general manager and a trainer. "Within two seconds, people just started running out". "I could hear at least two shots first".

A witness said there was panic inside the gym.
