Advertisers flee Bill O'Reilly's show but impact unclear

Warren Dawson | 06 April, 2017, 02:59

Jenny Craig, the weight-loss and diet company whose ads were spotted earlier this week running during Fox News Channel's "The O'Reilly Factor", said it has suspended its ties to that program in the wake of backlash to a New York Times report detailing settlements made to women who have accused the show's anchor, Bill O'Reilly, of sexual harassment.

A spokesperson for Hyundai told CNN that while it does not now have any spots on O'Reilly's show, following the "recent and disturbing allegations", it has reversed its decision to run any commercials in the near future.

"I think he's a person I know well - he is a good person", Trump said, according to the Times.

He has denied subjecting women to unwanted sexual advances. "Because you should have taken it all the way".

South Korean carmaker Hyundai has no spot being broadcast on the channel but has changed its new campaign to come, preferring other channels of the 21st Century Fox group, he told AFP.

"I think he shouldn't have settled; personally I think he shouldn't have settled", the president added.

One in 10 US women with Zika had deformed fetus or baby
The report analyzed 1,297 pregnancies reported from January 15 through December 27, 2016, in the 50 states and Washington, D.C. Babies may also appear healthy at birth but have underlying brain defects or other Zika-related health problems.

"I don't even wait", Trump can be heard saying in the tape.

"I think they are unfounded just based on what I've read", Trump said of the accusations against Ailes.

Ailes left Fox News last summer.

That story has resulted in a mass exodus of advertisers that now stands at twenty, and in an unusual twist, these companies are explicitly citing O'Reilly's misconduct allegations in their statements.

In an email statement, Kaylie Hanson Long, National Communications Director for NARAL Pro-Choice, said "A man who bragged about committing sexual assault and grabbing women by the pu$$y is defending Bill O'Reilly".

Henry Holt, the publisher of O'Reilly's new book "Old School", has said it has "no comment at this time" on the allegations against its author. But I did cover your sexual harassment allegations. But neither the company nor O'Reilly have addressed the matter since Saturday, when the New York Times first revealed the extent of settlements paid to O'Reilly's accusers.
