Trump slipped 220 spots on the list to 544 with an estimated $3.5 billion, a decline of $1 billion from previous year.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates again tops Forbes' list of the world's richest people, in a year when the number of billionaires rose 13% to 2,043.

Forty per cent of Trump's wealth is tied up in Trump Tower and eight other buildings within a short distance of it.

"Midtown Manhattan real estate is down; therefore, so is Donald Trump's fortune", the magazine said in a statement.

A recent breakdown of the president's wealth valued his New York City real estate at $1.7 billion, his real estate outside New York at $630 million, his golf clubs at $620 million, his cash and personal assets at $270 million, and his brand businesses at $230 million.

According to Forbes, Bill Gates is the number one richest for the fourth year in a row, and the richest person in the world for 18 out of the past 23 years.

The 2017 list is longer than it has ever been before - Forbes estimates there are now 2,043 billionaires worldwide, up from 1,810 in 2016.

How many girls on the list increased to 227 from 202, giving them a combined net worth of $852.8bn. Others in the top 10 include Amazon founder Jeff Bezos (number three, ) Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg (number five, ) Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison (number seven, ) and others.

Charlie Dent, R-Pa., said the Senate should take the lead on the Russian Federation investigation. Burr has said that so far, the Senate committee has requested 20 individuals to be interviewed.

Forbes has just released its latest report on the world's billionaires and it might surprise you to know that 12 Malaysians have made it on that exclusive list. Also in the Top 10 are Amazon's Jeff Bezos ($72 B), Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg ($56 B), and Oracle's Larry Ellison ($52.2 B).

The global billionaire population jumped 13 percent from last year to 2,043, the biggest annual increase in the 31 years since the magazine began compiling the list, Forbes said.

The U.S. had the most billionaires with a number of 565, and China came the second with 319 billionaires.

As the New York's real estate market has slowed, Forbes began downgrading Trump's net value previous year, saying in October that his net worth was down to $3.7 billion.

Forbes said the $1bn drop in his riches was as a result of U.S. property market that was sluggish.

Check out the top ten below, then head over to Forbes for the full list. "Lately, the neighborhood has been struggling (relatively speaking)".

The magazine also said that his wealth was hit by $66m in political spending on his successful presidential campaign, as well as $25m to settle litigation he allegedly ripped off students at Trump University.

The highest ranking woman on the list was L'Oreal cosmetics shareholder Liliane Bettencourt, who was 14th with $39.5 billion.
