Michael Jordan Finesses Sit Down With Charles Oakley and Knicks Owner

Hilda Schwartz | 15 February, 2017, 00:55

Oakley and Dolan have had a longstanding feud and Garden officials have tried to bar the former power forward, who played in NY for 10 seasons, from entering games in the past. Oakley was arrested and charged with three counts of assault.

He's asked Dolan to call for a press conference and apologize for what transpired when Oakley was removed from Madison Square Garden and arrested on February 8. The beef came to ahead recently when Oakley was taken out of Madison Square Garden and arrested during a Knicks home game.

Michael Jordan and NBA Commissioner Adam Silver are helping fix the relationship between Charles Oakley and Madison Square Garden chairman James Dolan.

The ban being lifted is progress, but Oakley is hoping to see Dolan make an apology on a public platform. Jordan is close friends with Oakley, his former teammate, and has built a relationship with Dolan.

Jordan and Oakley go way back - back to before Jordan ever won an National Basketball Association championship: they were teammates on the Bulls before Oakley went to NY.

New South Wales expecting 'catastrophic' level of fire danger today
A total fire ban is in place across the whole state for the weekend, as authorities seek to prevent new bushfires igniting. About 300 firefighters were on the ground and thousands more were on stand-by.

Several members of MSG security removed Oakley from the arena last Wednesday night. The Knicks had claimed Oakley was being unruly, while Oakley claimed Dolan asked for his removal.

Knicks owner James Dolan also fired the Garden's security chief for allowing Oakley to reach his seat and but said he hoped Oakley's ban "won't be forever".

You can thank Michael Jordan and Adam Silver for this, as the two of them spoke with Oakley and Dolan on a conference call on Monday.

But perhaps Dolan and Oakley merely sitting down can lead to something positive in the future.
