Bruno Mars Makes Us Smile with Charming Grammys Performance

Madeline Patrick | 14 February, 2017, 00:55

On Sunday night he took on the toughest job at the Grammys: paying tribute to Prince-but he nailed it.

It was fitting, then, that Prince was honored at the 2017 Grammy Awards with an unforgettable tribute.

Host James Corden said as he set the stage "The sky is purple, and the First Avenue Club is sold out, but you have tickets to the hottest show on the planet".

After The Time's performance, the stage turned dark and Prince's voice could be heard giving an intro talk to "Let's Go Crazy".

Say what you will about Bruno Mars's recorded music, but anyone who's seen his essential SNL sketch knows that he's an incredible impersonator. What does that look like?

Matt Reeves is The Batman Director!
Variety says that he has already agreed, so at this point we probably just need some signed paperwork to make it a done deal. Ben Affleck has been very busy with "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", " The Accountant ", and " Live by Night ".

Prince's voice reciting "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to get through this thing called life", sent chills down viewers' spines.

The Time, a group that worked closely with Prince since high school (care of André Cymone) performed 1984 hit "Jungle Love". There was even a dance break in the middle of the performance. And he ended his number with a killer guitar solo.

Sources close to the situation tell Billboard that the Grammys faced considerable challenges organizing this year's Prince tribute.

Mars performed alongside classic Prince co-stars Morris Day and the Time, who led off by playing their own songs as a tribute to the Purple One.
